I had a busy month! Or… I didn’t. So I had lots of time to read! Plus I went home for Christmas and whenever I see my Mum I get a stack of James Patterson books to read. I need to get a little more discerning about which ones I choose to read I think, especially the ones that are co-written, as these seem to be very hit and miss.

Currently Reading

  • The Suspect by Michael Robotham
  • On The Steamy Side by Louisa Edwards
  • Barracuda by Christos Tsiolkas

Coming Up Next

  • 15 Seconds by Andrew Gross
  • Lord John and the Private Matter by Diana Gabaldon
  • The Mystery of Mercy Close by Marian Keyes
  • Misery by Stephen King
  • Bones are Forever by Kathy Reichs

Check in at the end of the month to see how I went with my upcoming list!

September & October Wrap Up

This is a monthly post done at the beginning of each month to quickly recap what I’ve read through the previous month.

So I’ve been in a little bit of a blogging slump, which surprises me as I’ve started studying again. Usually when I start studying my procrastination increases, so… Anyway, homework has increased, we have accreditation coming up at work, so I’ve just been exhausted by the time I get home, and I didn’t want to push myself to do blog posts and get resentful of it, so I just took some time away. But I think I’m back; got one more assignment to procrastinate for!

READ

  • The Freudian Slip by Marion von Alderstein
  • Vanity Fare by Megan Caldwell
  • Murder in Montparnasse by Kerry Greenwood
  • The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides

So fell off track a little these two months – that’s what happens when I commit to a 1000 page book, good as it is it takes me a little while to progress!

August Wrap Up

This is a monthly post done at the beginning of each month to quickly recap what I’ve read through the previous month.

Aaaand, August is done. This year is absolutely flying. Work continues to keep me busy – shocker, I know. We’ve got our second yearly accreditation coming up, so everyone is worker-bee-ing to get everything officially official and skills and protocols all up to scratch. Because of that, I’ve spent more time power-napping on the train this month than intended! Oops. But I clearly need the extra sleep so we’ll let that one slide shall we?

July Wrap Up

This is a monthly post done at the beginning of each month to quickly recap what I’ve read through the previous month.

July. Another month bites the dust! I had an awesome month, I took a couple of weeks off work and went on a holiday. I might do a post on it soon – coz why the hell not? I did the Ghan train from Darwin down to Adelaide, with a stop off in the middle to visit Uluru. Amazing. I got some gorgeous photos – with my brand new fancy-pants camera. Anyway, suffice to say (for the moment) the trip was just awesome. What with plane rides, train trips and lots and lots of hours on busses, I got LOTS of reading done.

Just FYI – I didn’t carry all these books with me in hard copy – that would be madness *cough*. I did take a couple though, but I read more e-books in a short space of time than I have… ever, I think.

June Wrap Up

This is a monthly post done at the beginning of each month to quickly recap what I’ve read through the previous month.

Oh my gosh June is over. The year is officially half gone – how crazy is that??? June was – unsurprisingly – another busy month for me. Hopefully work should settle down now, the first half of the year is usually the busiest. I looked back at my stack of books that I’d read, and realised that though I didn’t feel like I got time to read anything much this month, it was my most productive of the year. I got through 10 books. Wow! Hopefully I’ll be able to back it up again in July… 😉

May Wrap Up

This is a monthly post done at the beginning of each month to quickly recap what I’ve read through the previous month.

May. My May was busy. So busy! But that’s normal. That’s the first half of the year for me. I recover from New Years and all of a sudden I look up and the year is half over. The course I was doing is almost finished – I only have one assignment left to submit (Yay!) and the course I run is almost done for the semester. I vary between reading for all of my commute to/from work, and dozing for half the trip – if I’m tired, the rhythm of the train just lulls me to sleep. But I got through some good ones this month.

April Wrap Up

This is a monthly post done at the beginning of each month to quickly recap what I’ve read through the previous month – and I’m running very late with this one!

April – So I didn’t do as well in numbers this month, I think due to what I was reading. Dragonfly in Amber was excellent, but long. The Scarlet Pimpernel took me FOREVER – I’ve been chipping away at it for months. And London Call Girl was… I didn’t like it. So I didn’t want to put the time in and read it. But oh well. My aim is to whip through a few quick reads for a bit now, I’ve hit my dense/long limit for a little while!

  • Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon
